Cody Graham M.A., T-LMHC
Cody graduated with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa in 2024.
Grounded in person-centered principles, Cody believes in the potential of all individuals for growth, healing, and change. This approach emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine understanding, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. By
fostering a non-judgmental and supportive atmosphere, Cody helps clients uncover their strengths, build self-awareness, and develop the skills necessary to lead fulfilling lives.
In addition to person-centered counseling, Cody utilizes an acceptance-based behavioral framework to address a wide range of mental health concerns. This framework incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques, focusing on helping clients develop psychological flexibility and embrace their thoughts and feelings without unnecessary struggle. By combining these approaches, Cody assists clients in building meaningful lives aligned with their values, despite the challenges they may face.
Cody has experience working with diverse populations on a wide range of challenges and his clinical interests include challenges that accompany adjustment to major transitions in
life, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress management, and concerns related to work and career.
Cody’s personal and professional values align with a prioritization of social justice and inclusion, and he places tremendous importance on working towards cultural humility and understanding his own privileges. Cody is committed to working towards social justice and equity for clients of every race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual
orientation, socioeconomic status, religious/spiritual identity, and ability status.
When not working with clients, Cody enjoys engaging in activities that promote personal well-being and self-care, such as mindfulness meditation, hiking, and spending time in
nature with his wife and two dogs.
