Sam DeGroot M.A., T-LMHC
Sam holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa and is currently a temporarily licensed mental health counselor (t-LMHC). Sam utilizes evidence-based interventions rooted in cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused therapy techniques. Her areas of expertise and interest include crisis management, neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Sam appreciates working with diverse groups, including the LGBTQ+ community, while drawing from a multicultural treatment lens.

Sam believes that from a young age, we find ways to navigate and survive the world around us. However, sometimes the tools we’ve developed in the past no longer serve us in our current situation and can lead to distress. By gaining a better understanding of ourselves and embracing our strengths, we’re better equipped to develop adequate and effective skills to navigate both internal and external challenges that come our way!

Regardless of what brings you in or where you’re at in your journey, Sam focuses on promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive space while working collaboratively with you to help you reach your goals!
